Lyra Harris studied photography at Rhode Island School of Design and California College of the Arts, graduating from CCA with a BFA in 2004.
In 2005, Lyra spent a year in Honduras, working for a local development organization, the Anglican Association for the Development of Honduras and photographing the people and places around her.
As a case manager for Tenderloin Housing Clinic in San Francisco, Lyra started a weekly arts and discussion group and photographed willing participants.
Currently, Lyra is getting her teaching credential from San Francisco State University.
